Operation Coming Home has broken ground on a new Hero Home in the Holly Springs new home community Morgan Park, by CalAtlantic Homes. The wounded veteran, SSGT Brandan Lee Joseph Taylor, and his family will get to move into the donated home when building is complete.

Taylor has been on four deployments, and was injured in winter 2014, sustaining severe back, spine and knee injuries. Tim Minton, who is a board member for Operation Coming Home, said that Taylor’s courage led them to choose Taylor for the Hero Home. Taylor’s family, including his wife Chelsey, 6 year old son, and two baby twin boys, say that the home is a “blessing.”

The home in Morgan Park will feature an open, spacious family area with 5 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, a game room and screened-in porch. The home will be accessible, with a wheelchair accessible shower and wider doorways to help the Taylor family live easier. Morgan Park offers amenities such as a pool, fitness center, and play areas, and proximity to a greenway trail system.

“We are honored to have the opportunity to commit our time and resources to partner with Operation Coming Home to create an exceptional home for such an extremely deserving American hero,” says Troy George, Raleigh Division President for CalAtlantic Homes. “It is our hope that this home provides a backdrop for the Taylor family to make cherished memories for many years to come.”
