You know curb appeal when you see it. First impressions truly do matter, especially when the arrival of spring signifies a sellers’ season. Even if the inside of your home is stunning, how the outside looks is just as important. This can be the make or break factor between a welcoming house and one that gets passed over. Thankfully, there are some extremely easy ways to spruce up your exterior in no time.
Paint the front door
Your front door can speak to the style of your home with a pop of color. Tried and true blacks, charcoals, and grays are common hues, but don’t be afraid to go bold with reds and yellows. Afterall, you are trying to leave a lasting impression.
Update your hardware
If the numbers outside of your home are old and outdated, this is a small detail that’s both inexpensive and efficient. Make sure you don’t underestimate the power of simple changes such as these!
Adding potted plants can take your curb appeal from blah to WOW. Plants signify a well-cared for vibe. Opt for a group of annuals or perennials for some color and greenery that goes a long way.
Pull out the pressure washer
You’d be surprised at how much dirt and grime can build up over time. Rent a pressure washer and go to town on your driveway, exterior, and sidewalk. You’ll be surprised at how fresh it looks after. As always, make sure to practice pressure washer safety when using the tool.
Let there be light
A clear path to your front door adds warmth and signifies security. Solar-powered spotlights tuck nicely into garden beds and can be aimed along the walkway.
Putting in rockers or modern metal chairs on your front porch is a great way to indicate to new buyers that your neighborhood is friendly and social.
Art goes a long way
Some tasteful, outdoor art can add a bit of creativity to your yard, but make sure not to go overboard. Look for something more modern and understated—like a copper birdbath or a simple bench.
