Home | Your Triangle Summer Home To-Do List

Summer is the time of year when sitting on the back porch is a pleasure to be enjoyed any time of day.  It signals the start of vacations, family cookouts, and longer days. It’s also the perfect time to focus on a few things at home. Here are several things you can do this season as we get into the full swing of the dog days of summer in the Raleigh-Durham area.

Pull out your favorite recipes for the grill

Thanks to the Triangle’s mild climate, grilling out can pretty much be done all year long. Nonetheless, July is a perfect month to take advantage of the extra light with some outdoor grilling sessions. There’s something about firing up the grill with friends and throwing on your favorite veggies and chicken for an enjoyable night with friends. Plenty of new Triangle communities have areas for grilling with large patios and back porches to enjoy all summer long.

Bring in pops of summer colors

Now is the perfect time to add in colors and greenery to your home. Plants bring the outside in, and blues remind us of beach and pool days. Trying pulling in warmer colors to lighten up your home for the next few months.

Assess your curb appeal

Now is the time to make sure your garden, flowers, and grass are getting enough water. With the temperatures rising, make sure that you have an effective irrigation and watering system in place to keep everything green. If you’re not a big fan of yard work, there are plenty of communities in the Triangle with townhomes that include yard maintenance as a part of HOA dues.

Purchase any tools you might need

In the summertime, you will often find power tools and home improvement tools on sale. If you have certain things you need for your toolbox, now is a great time to stock up and take advantage of deals.
