Historic Oakwood Candlelight Tour

The annual Candlelight Tour is a favorite for people who love old houses and seeing the gorgeous interiors. The homes in Historic Oakwood in downtown Raleigh date back to the mid 1800s, and are carefully preserved by current residents. The tour allows people to walk through the homes (13) and begins on December 12 and 13, from 1:00 – 7:00. For more information, click here.

Santa Paws

On Friday, December 11, take your doggy friends to the downtown Durham Armory for pictures with Santa, games, and an animal food and toy drive benefiting the APS of Durham County! This event is free and open to the public, and a great chance to get your pet’s picture taken with St. Nicholas himself. For more information, click here.

The Salvation Army of Wake County’s Christmas Cheer Program helps bring cheer to thousands of underprivileged children in the area with toys and clothes so that they have a happy Christmas morning. Hill Ridge Farms

Hill Ridge Farms is the most exciting place for the holidays! Located in Youngsville, Hill Ridge Farms offers train rides, hay rides, visits with Santa, and the annual Festival of Lights. You’ll definitely feel the Christmas cheer with the bonfires, s’mores, hot chocolate, and an old fashioned candy store at this holiday getaway. For more information, click here.

Rudolph’s Holiday Rodeo

Visit the first annual Rudolph’s Holiday Rodeo at Knightdale Station Park, where there will be 15 decorated food trucks serving a variety of delicious foods, as well as local breweries serving craft beer to attendees. From 12 – 4, have fun eating and drinking with family and friends, and stop by the photo booth or say hi to Santa! For more information, click here.

Theatre in the Park: A Christmas Carol

This weekend, watch the fabulous annual show The Christmas Carol, which has been performed since 1974 at Theatre in the Park. Ira David Wood III’s comedy has been hailed as one of the “Top 20 Events in the Southeast” and is a great show for the whole family to enjoy. For more information, click here.

Wake Forest’s Christmas ParadeChristmas in Cary

Enjoy Wake Forest’s annual Christmas parade on December 12, and will feature over 100 floats and entries from local groups, as well as high school marching bands and a special guest appearance by Santa! Your family can take pictures with Santa before the parade starts from 10 – 12 am. For more information, click here.

North Carolina Chinese Lantern Festival Cary

The North Carolina Chinese Lantern Festival Cary will be held at Koka Booth Amphitheater in Cary, NC on many dates through the end of December and beginning of January. Your whole family will enjoy the larger than life displays and beautiful lights! For more information, click here.
