The Triangle area of North Carolina has so much going on during the holiday season, and great places to give, spread cheer and celebrate with friends, family and neighbors. Here’s what’s going on for the holidays in the Triangle!
Historic Oakwood Candlelight Tour
The annual Candlelight Tour is a favorite for people who love old houses and seeing the gorgeous interiors. The homes in Historic Oakwood in downtown Raleigh date back to the mid 1800s, and are carefully preserved by current residents. The tour allows people to walk through the homes (13) and begins on December 12 and 13, from 1:00 – 7:00. For more information, click here.
On Friday, December 11, take your doggy friends to the downtown Durham Armory for pictures with Santa, games, and an animal food and toy drive benefiting the APS of Durham County! This event is free and open to the public, and a great chance to get your pet’s picture taken with St. Nicholas himself. For more information, click here.
Salvation Army Christmas Cheer Program
The Salvation Army of Wake County’s Christmas Cheer Program helps bring cheer to thousands of underprivileged children in the area with toys and clothes so that they have a happy Christmas morning. There’s tons of opportunities for donating or volunteering, and a way to give back and help neighborhood kids. For more information, click here.
Hill Ridge Farms
Hill Ridge Farms is the most exciting place for the holidays! Located in Youngsville, Hill Ridge Farms offers train rides, hay rides, visits with Santa, and the annual Festival of Lights. You’ll definitely feel the Christmas cheer with the bonfires, s’mores, hot chocolate, and an old fashioned candy store at this holiday getaway. For more information, click here.
