Durham-Chapel Hill ranked highly in a recent report by the American Institute for Economic Research, scoring 2nd in the United States for the best small metro for college students. Raleigh-Cary also scored highly, winning 4th in the United States for best mid-sized metro for college students.
The cities included in the rankings were judged by diversity, social and cultural life (entertainment, dining, shopping, city accessibility, youth unemployment rate, and rent prices) and work opportunities for grads. The Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill area has often been applauded for the amount of opportunities not only for college students, but for everyone. The Triangle has a diverse mix of a little something for everyone, and hosts some of the most prestigious work institutions in country (SAS, RTI, RTP) and the universities in the area allow college students to thrive in the area.
