Move to the Triangle and know that you’re in one of the best places to receive a college degree. According to a recent study from Forbes Magazine, both Duke University and the University of North Carolina rank among the best for the best-value colleges in the United States.
Out of 300 colleges and universities considered, Duke ranked No. 12 and UNC took the No. 15 spot. Down the road in Raleigh, North Carolina State ranked No. 115. In order to establish the rankings, Forbes considered things like alumni earnings, student debt, on-time graduation rates, and tuition among others.
The decision on where to go to college is one of the most important choices in one’s life. It’s helpful to know what’s worth the investment. Today, some public colleges cost as much as $80,000 to attend, with their private counterparts topping out at more than $180,000. For many families, the cost of college is just as important as the degree itself. Living expenses, student debt, and loans all weigh into the question of, “Is college worth it?”
The answer is yes if Duke or UNC are options you’re considering. Aside from being considered “best-value” universities, both boast strong athletic programs, are among the top places to work, and do well with helping students find employment after graduation.
