BLAIR: Welcome to Triangle Home Front, where we bring you the latest in new homes, new home communities, and local home trends, answering the questions that buyers are asking here in the Raleigh-Durham area. I’m your host Blair Callahan with New Homes and Ideas, and today we’re exploring the exciting new homes by Ryland Homes, here at Brightwood Trails.
GIAN: Today’s home buyers are really interested in using technology to their benefit, making the search process easier for them. So here at Ryland Homes, we have this cool little touch screen which shows all of our floor plans. Customers with just a touch can see the elevation of their choice and make sure it really works for them.
BLAIR: Buyers are demanding open floor plans and Ryland delivers. Kitchens open up to family rooms, spacious foyers, and outdoor living areas. The prevailing trend in kitchen design is darker, castle-style cabinetry along with darker hardwood and lighter granite countertops with deep stainless undermount sinks. All of the plans have a front porch and rear patio. A very popular option is a 14×12 covered porch in addition to the patio. Available options include screened-in porches, sunrooms, or extended patios. Buyers prefer a variety of master bath layouts. Double marble topped vanities are a must. Master suites need to be well-lit, and large enough to accommodate a king-sized bed, and customers appreciate the extra volume offered by a trey ceiling. Plus, all of the floor plans deliver a second family room in the form of a loft or game room to meet today’s evolving lifestyle.
